Each year, the “corporate” Friends of the Library board meets regularly throughout the year for work related to governing the organization as a whole. It also offers one Annual Meeting for all members of all Friends of the Library chapters to attend.
FOL members from all chapters are encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting. This is your opportunity to vote for the officers of the County organization and hear about the activities of all Chapters. Good ideas will be shared by those who share your enthusiasm for supporting our Library system. You have the opportunity to ensure the future of the El Dorado County Library through the Friends of the Library. Your involvement will enable the library to enrich lives by fostering a lifelong love of reading, discovery, and learning.

Every Friends of the Library chapter has their own used book sale schedules, as well as their own policies for used book donations. Some chapters accept items in addition to books, such as DVDs, CDs, special collections, and other items. Please contact specific chapters for more information about their current Used Book Sale schedule, how to donate books, and other information.
The Friends of the Library and the Endowment Fund welcome gifts in any amount. All gifts to the fund are used to build principle with only a portion of the interest used to fund Library projects. Thus, a gift to the Endowment Fund will continue to serve El Dorado County Libraries for many years in the future. Call the Friends of the Library in Placerville at (530) 621-5540 or South Lake Tahoe at (530) 573-3185 for more information or assistance with planned giving.
