The mission of the Friends of the Library of El Dorado County is to support its libraries in El Dorado County, their patrons and staff; to support library and community outreach programs, services and facilities; to enrich the lives of El Dorado County residents by advocating the use of our libraries and to support our libraries through fundraising efforts which include memberships, gifts and endowments.
The Friends of the El Dorado County Library is an all-volunteer, independent nonprofit organization. It is governed by a volunteer board and oversees 6 chapters: one for each of the 6 public libraries in the El Dorado County Library system. Each chapter has its own leadership and roster of members who make a difference for their library and community. Each chapter operates its own membership lists, used book sales, and other fundraising and community-building endeavors. Each chapter decides the financial contributions it can provide to the library branch it supports.
