Mission Statement

The Friends of the El Dorado County Library is an all-volunteer, independent nonprofit organization. It is governed by a volunteer board and oversees 6 chapters: one for each of the 6 public libraries in the El Dorado County Library system, which include:

Cameron Park

El Dorado Hills

Georgetown

Placerville

Pollock Pines

South Lake Tahoe

Each chapter has its own leadership and roster of members who make a difference for their library and community. Each chapter operates its own membership lists, used book sales, and other fundraising and community-building endeavors. Each chapter decides the financial contributions it can provide to the library branch it supports.

All are welcome to join your local library’s Friends of the Library Chapter. Please visit the chapter websites for more information about meeting schedules, used book sale schedules, used book donations, and how to become involved.
